Project Description

In support of U.S. military operations in Iraq, Perini Management Services led the design and construction of a large administration building that served as the command center for all U.S. force in Iraq. The building had a "built-in" protective blast roof and reinforced CMU exterior walls. The Perini design-build team had previously developed the roof system as stand alone structures to protect dining halls and gymnasiums at bases throughout Iraq. This facility included sophisticated communications systems for voice, data, and video, which were designed to meet SCIF criteria. It also included significant HVAC systems to support the intended data center.

“Perini did an outstanding job on this design-build project in a hazardous wartime environment. This is one of the best projects built in Iraq!”
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Chief of Iraq Branch
