Perini Receives NPS Contract at Gateway National Recreation Area, Sandy Hook Unit

Perini Management Services, Inc., has been awarded a contract by the National Park Service to relocate the maintenance and storage facilities at the Sandy Hook Unit within the historic Fort Hancock section of the Gateway National Recreation Area in New Jersey. The existing facilities were severely damaged during Hurricane Sandy in 2012, and the new facilities will be relocated to higher ground and flood resistant. The project consists of the renovation of two existing historic buildings to serve as a wood shop and administrative building, and new construction of an auto shop and parking/storage structure, along with extensive site work within the 7-acre area.

Perini Awarded Montevideo, Uruguay Chancery Renovation Project

Perini Management Services, Inc. has been selected by the U.S. Department of State to renovate the Chancery of the U.S. Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay. This renovation project will enhance the longevity of the building by upgrading the building shell and utility systems, and reconfiguring interior spaces throughout the building. Construction is expected to begin later this year with substantial completion anticipated in 2021. This project will continue PMSI’s 30-year legacy of renovating and upgrading U.S. Embassies throughout the world.

Perini Management Services to Replace Passenger Elevators at Carlsbad Caverns NP

Perini is managing a design-build contract to repair and modernize two of the four elevators at Carlsbad Caverns National Park located in southeastern New Mexico. Carlsbad Caverns is a unique natural habitat consisting of miles of underground caves that is famous for its amazing geological features and large bat population. The two passenger elevators have been out of service for more than a year, and visitors have been using the freight elevators to descend the 750 feet down into the cave or entering at the cave's mouth and walking miles of winding trail. The project is scheduled for completion by the start of the 2018 summer season. This is Perini’s third project at Carlsbad Caverns, having recently replaced the electrical systems and feature lighting within the caves.

Union County Family Courthouse Completed

Perini turned over the new Union County Family Courthouse at a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 22nd. The 4-story building in Elizabeth City, New Jersey features a limestone and granite façade with a large skylight system over the main entrance. A high performance curtain wall with sunshades contributes to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification. The interior features custom millwork, terrazzo floors and a large glass staircase affixed to the curtain wall. Perini completed the project to the client’s complete satisfaction following the termination of the original contractor, correcting many deficiencies to produce a high quality, fully functioning facility.

Tutor Perini awarded $80 Million FMS project in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Tutor Perini has been awarded a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) project under the U.S. Air Force SATOC contract for work in Saudi Arabia. The work is for design-build construction of a complex of buildings at a relatively remote and undeveloped site near the city of Khurais to support weapons training for the Royal Saudi Air Force. The Khurais Electronic Warfare Range will be a new base serving Prince Sultan Air Base in Al Kharj. Perini Management Services, Inc. is the Tutor Perini subsidiary that will manage the project.

Tutor Perini receives second project award at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO

Perini Management Services will be following up construction of a new annex building for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) with a second project to renovate the existing NRO building at Schriever AFB. The two buildings are connected via a newly constructed pedestrian bridge at the second floor level. Both projects were awarded as task orders under the Tutor Perini SATOC contract with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC).
