Perini Project Manager Presents Washington Monument Project to SAME

Senior Project Manager, Mr. Robert Collie, gave a presentation on the Washington Monument Earthquake Repair project to the Boston Post of the Society for American Military Engineers (SAME) today. Mr. Collie was the on-site project manager for this high profile project and provided many interesting details on the history of the Monument, as well as an in-depth description of the project itself. Mr. Collie gave a similar presentation to the Blue Ridge Post in Winchester, Virginia on September 17th. He also gave a presentation to the Project Management Institute in Washington, D.C. on June 5th 2014.

Perini Achieves Beneficial Occupancy of U.S. Coast Guard Rescue 21 Remote Communication Sites

The 4th Remote Fixed Facility (RFF) at Deception Hills, within Glacier Bay National Park, is substantially completed as the Alaska weather window for construction closes for the season. Despite encountering differing subsurface site conditions that impacted our original schedule, Perini was able to redesign the foundations and perform the modifications necessary to allow completion of this site in the 2014 season. MORE

Completion of Middle Cape, Duffield, and Twin Peaks RFFs

Perini has achieved substantial completion of three remote communication sites that support the U.S. Coast Guard's Rescue 21 system along the Gulf of Alaska. A fourth site will be completed in October due to differing site conditions that required a revised foundation design. MORE

Washington Monument Reopens on Schedule

The National Park Service held a ceremony to mark the reopening of the Monument following successful completion of the earthquake repairs project. Perini completed the project several days ahead of schedule and within budget. In all, Perini oversaw approximately 1,100 feet of mortar patches, over 100 Dutchman repairs utilizing the original quarry marble salvaged from previously demolished buildings, and between 500 and 600 feet of epoxy injections. MORE
